Just Go Left

A Few Minutes Inside My Brain (You Were Warned)

Before we get started, watch this:

Did you just fall out of your chair laughing? I did. I just watched again and laughed just as hard as I did the first time.

I showed this to Kyle and he said "oh man that hits close to home."

Maybe he said that because when we took a 4 mile walk this weekend I made him pause and take about 50 photos of Gatsby and me looking at a river so I could use them here and on my Instagram. I also brought our nice camera and lugged it for the entire 4 miles.  I cannot confirm nor deny.

Hold on because there's a website too.

But really, Kyle actually likes helping me take photos, and he loves making videos of our travels. Lately he's finding great enjoyment in showing up on my Snapchat....really soaking in every 10 seconds of fame.

Yup, you guessed it, today's post is going to be entirely random. Consider it a day pass into my brain....which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. I'm sure you're wondering what prompted this randomness and I'll be honest: I worked a 12 hour day yesterday and by the time I got home, ate dinner, opened my computer and started writing this is what came out.

Note to self: less Netflix, more blogging on weekends.

Another note to self: do not take melatonin before writing blog posts at night.

I'm tired, you guys. Not just from the aforementioned 12 hour day but from the last two weeks in general. I swear, I feel like I lived a whole month in these last two weeks. On Monday when my alarm went off at 5 a.m. the first thing I thought was "I could totally sleep another eight hours". It's been a never-ending list of to-dos and errands and all kinds of planning and I'm exhausted by it all. Who do we need to talk to about making five day weekends a thing? I would work 12 hours a day if it meant I got five days off in a row. Who's with me?

In less tired news, there have been some really exciting things happening behind the scenes here at Just Go Left and I'm really excited to share next week. One thing I can share is that I got promoted at work! I also got our Christmas cards out on time. I am WINNING at adulthood.

And while w're on the topic of Christmas, Kyle and I are headed home in two weeks to kick off the the "California Holiday Tour of 2015". We're splitting the holidays between his hometown of Lake Tahoe and my hometown of Ventura; towns which are seven hours apart and have very different climates. Is this an excuse for me to over pack? Yes and I will be taking FULL advantage, never fear. I should also mention that instead of flying into LAX like we usually do, it was cheaper to fly into an airport in Orange County (about an hour and a half from my hometown, where the tour gets started) so we're adding almost 200 miles to our trip...but on the bright side we saved about $200 per ticket by choosing that airport, which means more breakfast burritos and In N Out for me.

Fa la la la la, la la la la!

Though I'm really excited to catch up with friends and family (AND EAT!) this trip marks the first time we're boarding Gatsby and I hate the idea of leaving him in a strange place (for him). Gatsby thrives in routine, and does very well on his set schedule. We've worked really hard using his schedule and routine to build his trust and I'm worried this trip to the boarding facility will undo all our hard work. Sadly, boarding is our only option because Gatsby's foster family (who normally watch him when we fly across the country) are also out of town for the holidays and can't watch him. Needless to say, we got a REALLY big bone from Petsmart to make it up to him.

I've almost completed my Christmas shopping (I'm totally late this year) and Kyle is proving to be one of the hardest people for me to shop for. I'll be sharing one of our new holiday traditions next week (it involves gifts) and I saved him for last because I thought he would be a piece of cake....ya know...since we live together and all. WRONG. IT'S LIKE TEN TIMES HARDER.

And in entertainment news.....

I'm obsessed with the ABC Family Show Greek. It's all Kyle's fault. And yes I know the show went off the air eleventy billon years ago and yes I know it's a corny show about college but damn it I can't stop watching. Dale slays me. Please tell me someone else watches this show so I don't feel like the only person still living in 2009.

I'm also completely obsessed with "The Affair" on Showtime. If you don't watch this show I have three words for you: Pacey Witter comeback.

You're welcome.

On Friday there's a pretty sweet little giveaway happening here, so I hope you'll come back to sample the goods and enter to win. (Hint: there's jewelry).

Okay. You've survived. Class dismissed. See you Friday for aforementioned giveaway and a little more sanity.

Probably not.

Oh my gosh I'm so tired.
